The EWGA Championships have a been a wonderful opportunity for me to challenge myself at my own level each year. Every tournament I played through the Finals taught me something new about my golf game and about myself. Although I did end up taking home an award, the greatest gift was the wonderful women I played with during the practice and tournament rounds.

EWGA Championship Presented by Callaway Golf

EWGA Championship Logo 150 with Callaway Logo The Championship puts your game to the test and creates an opportunity for personal growth in a competitive yet fun environment. Members of all skill levels with an official USGA handicap index are encouraged to participate.

Three stages:

  • One 18-hole qualifying event at the local Chapter level
  • One 18-hole District Semi-Final Championship held at 15 venues across the United States.
  • 2008 Championship Finals: A two-day, 36-hole event September 26-27, 2008 at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, Aloha, OR.

The Championship, by design, offers two different competitive formats: Stroke Play and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition. You select the competitive format that best fits your game, personality and skill level.

Stroke Play Competition

Competitors are grouped into one of five flights at the Chapter Championship qualifying event based on their Handicap Index and remain in that flight throughout the Championship.  Both Low Gross and Low Net winners in each flight will advance to the next level of competition.

Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition

If teamwork and teambuilding are your strengths, this may be the format for you. This format consists of a four (4) woman team, comprised of your Chapter friends and fellow golfers, who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the scramble format.

To qualify:

  • Follow registration guidelines distributed through your local Chapter
  • Select either the stroke play or scramble division when you register
  • Be a female, EWGA member in good standing
  • Have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index
  • Be an amateur as defined by USGA Rules of Amateur Status 2007 EWGA CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE
